The whole experience with Selan Design has been very professional from start to finish. I had a pretty good idea of the style of kitchen I wanted but wasn’t so sure about the design layout. I am grateful for the time and effort both Abbie and Paul spent to come up with such lovely designs, so lovely in fact that I initially struggled to choose between them. They listened carefully to all my requests and were happy to make helpful suggestions too. I had some structural work planned and wanted the kitchen installation to begin immediately after this work finished which they made happen even though it meant a tight timescale. The project itself was managed very well and I was given a timetable when all the trades would be on site. If I had any queries, I just had to phone Abbie and she was always happy to help and advise. I wanted inspiration on the layout of my kitchen and where other kitchen companies failed to impress, Kirsty came up with 4 different designs and also used VR technology which helped me visualise what was possible.

Second to None

Having had a Selan kitchen in the past in a previous house, we already knew that the quality of the kitchen would be second to none and the design aspect would be to a high standard. The quality had not dipped over the years so we weren’t disappointed.
Other kitchen companies had offered designs that replaced like with like when we said we wanted a change of layout and had been told it wasn’t possible. Kirsty came up with not one but THREE different options for us to choose from, and three different price points. Kirsty answered my endless questions with patience and professionalism, and when I thought something couldn’t be done, Paul came up with a workaround.
Everything was delivered as promised, and the programme of work was brought forward which was a bonus, and a timetable provided to give us an idea of when to expect the trades people.
We were blown away by the professionalism and high standard of their workmanship, each and every one a true craftsman, across the board it was again second to none, and nothing was too much trouble. They, alongside Kirsty and Paul, are excellent ambassadors for Selan, and we would highly recommend Selan to anyone thinking of having a new kitchen.
One final but important point …… no hard sell, in fact quite the opposite, we were presented with designs and tweaks with no obligation to buy which is refreshing in this day and age. Well done, all.

Wendy and I would just like to put on record our huge thanks and appreciation to Kirsty and the team at Selan for our fantastic new kitchen and utility room. It really was a team effort that extended all the way from an initial drop-in to the showroom for a bit of window shopping then through the various stages in the design process and on to the final installation.
Importantly for us, we never felt any pressure at any stage and genuinely quite enjoyed the journey. We felt as much a part of the team as the designers, joiners, electricians, plasterers, plumbers, tilers and everyone else who was involved. Our ideas and input were listened to and improved upon as the process evolved and the end result is something that we are not only delighted with visually but somewhere we instantly feel at home with and comfortable using.
Having initially scoffed at the idea that anyone really needed a boiling water tap I now wonder how we ever managed without one. Similarly, I'd always taken the notion of computer-generated renders of how things should look at the end with a pinch of salt but am now a convert having seen how accurate and detailed they match the real thing.

"We had been looking for an inspirational kitchen designer for some time but, from the very first time we visited Selan in Broughty Ferry, we knew we would use them such was the confidence Carean and Kirsty had and have in their product and their knowledge of the options available in their range.
We had had a Miele kitchen in a previous house and were very keen to fit one again. Carean’s 4 designs was each superb; the island Option we chose has proven to be absolutely perfect for our situation and is a thorough delight to live with.
The three highlights have been simple ones: the Quooker has proven itself indispensable, the induction hob with its downward drawing integrated extractor perfect for keeping Carean’s crisp design lines intact, while the bean-to-cup coffee machine is 'essential' to our way of life; no, it really is…
Despite the rigours of Covid, which impacted the fitting date from the off, Carean’s precise and superbly diligently managed plan was executed flawlessly by John their kitchen fitter and gave us the type of fitted kitchen both we and our house had been craving for.

“Within minutes of walking into the Selan showroom I was convinced we would be buying our new kitchen there. Everyone was friendly and professional. We were made very welcome, listened to and shown the various products.
We were introduced to Kirsty, who would be designing and project managing the kitchen. The design we chose was ‘off the wall’. Figuratively and literally off the wall! The concept was beyond anything I could have imagined. Yet it was clear Kirsty had listened to everything we had said to her. It was all there, on paper.
The design process didn’t stop. We added, altered and changed our minds on the details. Often in the same sentence! Sometimes we didn’t really know what we wanted! Kirsty was always ready to make alterations and offer advice.
George kept us all on track. Function and form. Always hand in hand. It had to work, and it had to be beautiful.
During installation Kirsty kept us updated and managed the flow of work. The fitters, plumbers, electricians were friendly and efficient. Clearly taking a pride in their work. "We already knew Selan through friends and relatives who had them design and install their kitchens, and we were very impressed with the end results. We decided to go with Selan as the kitchens were high quality, the staff professional, and they organised the entire project from start to finish. We sat down with Kirsty and talked through our ideas with her. She came up with her design which incorporated some of our ideas but importantly improved on them and added lots of final touches which we hadn't even thought about.
The kitchen guys (John and Ian) were excellent, answered all our questions and addressed any concerns we had during the installation work. ''When we moved house, one thing we both wanted in our house was a really good modern kitchen.
We knew that Selan had an excellent reputation for design and installation of bespoke kitchens and we decided to employ them having visited their showroom and talked to their people.
We agreed on design and price and were given a computerised “artistic impression” booklet showing us what the final kitchen layout would look like.
Ours was a major kitchen refit involving the entire stripping out of everything in the existing kitchen, and the installation of the new units to the specification agreed on by us. The work involved multiple trades including electrical, plumbing, plasterwork, painting and flooring.
We were very impressed by Selan’s project management of all the trades involved, as this aspect was very important to ourselves. We were also very impressed by the quality and attention to detail by Selan’s own installation team during the installation.
The work was completed on time and in accordance with the job specification and price previously agreed on.

Got the 'wow' factor
''After a lot of thought and research over a new kitchen last year, we walked into Selan Design Ltd and got the wow factor. We met with Carean and our decision was made. She gave us designs that no one else had thought about and they were exactly what we wanted.
We chose sleek Sahara units matched with cream quartz worktops and a dark Macassar contrast, toning in with a dropped down butchers block table.
Our appliances are space saving additions to our kitchen and with the induction hob everything is energy and cost efficient.
Having our kitchen completed by Christmas as promised, we did a lot of entertaining and the kitchen worked really well. Everyone was very complimentary and a couple of friends have since visited the Showroom after seeing our great results.
